| Organiser Detail: | We never lose sight of the fact that dancing should be FUN. Almost all our members came to us with no dance experience at all .. and all were VERY nervous! Our beginners class recognises that most of the students have no dance experience and goes at an appropriate pace, and remember the beginners' class is ONLY for beginners; there will be no other dancers in the beginners class! Our style is unashamedly Cuban. We predominantly teach a 'circular' style and dance 'on the 1'. Not only is this style better suited to authentic salsa music but we find it is easier to pick up and more fun to do! However we do also teach the basics of linear (mambo) styling including mambo footwork, cross-body leads and mambo turns. Additionally we have guest instructors teaching a variety of styles from Casino to L.A. We encourage our students to develop their own style and regularly organise trips to other clubs to polish our dance skills. |
